Richard B. Cheney a distinguished public servant and businessman is vice-president of the United States. Cheney, a well-known face on the scene of Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush picked Cheney as his vice presidential candidate in July 2000, citing Cheney's insight judgment and experience. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for the president. He also served as a congressman Congress and was the secretary of defense. It's clear that he is a man with integrity, who has the respect of both Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney believes that his job as a member of his position in the Bush Administration is to serve as an open and discrete adviser. Cheney has accepted the Republican vice-presidential election in 2007, stated that he was looking forward to working under a president who will reach across the aisles and collaborate with rival political parties by fostering goodwill and working towards a common objective. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the child of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. After 13 years of age, old, he moved with his family into Casper in the western region of Wyoming, where his father ran the district for soil conservation in Casper for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
