Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974, Aviano Italy) American actress, particularly acclaimed for her critically acclaimed performances of naive and charming characters. Adams was born in Italy as her father worked with the U.S. military and she grew up living in Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven children. In the mid-1990s, she began professional dancing and performed at Boulder's Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. When she moved to Minnesota and appearing in the mock-documentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) which focused on beauty contests. In Los Angeles, she pursued acting as a profession following her film debut, in which she played the dizzy, but friendly contestant. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Discovered by actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a deal with MGM and started her career as a film actress in the late 1940s. Through the 1960s, Leigh appeared in films that were popular, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
