Aspen Ladd began her journey in combat sports at the age of 14. She studied boxing, kickboxing as well as wrestling, before making her first amateur appearance at WCFC in front of Jaimee Nievera. Invicta FC's Sijara Eubanks was her opponent in an rematch of UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was her first major match. Both fighters put up a back-and-forth encounter that ended with Ladd taking a unanimous win and each fighter received the Fight of the Night bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie only needed 16 seconds to finish Ladd and her streak. The third time she fought on UFC on ESPN 7, she defeated Yana Kunitskaya. In a last-minute substitute to her UFC fight, she took on Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. She lost the fight via majority decision.
